That $260 proofing box from 2018 finally paid for itself

Tbh I bought it on a whim during a slow winter and thought it was a gimmick, but after 7 years of fighting cold kitchen drafts in my basement setup it's the only gear purchase that never let me down, has anyone else got a pricey tool they were skeptical about that ended up being worth every penny?

My brother paid $300 for a fancy meat thermometer back in 2020 and we all laughed at him. Now he's the only one who can cook a turkey that isn't dry. It's funny how the stuff you buy for one specific problem ends up being the thing you reach for constantly. That's usually the sign it was worth it, when you stop thinking about the price and just use it every week without a second thought.
