Vent: I used baking soda instead of powder in my muffins.

They tasted so bitter, I won't mix those up again.

Actually thought they were basically the same thing for years. Made that swap in some pancakes once. They came out so salty and weird, like eating a science project. That chemical taste is impossible to miss. Really shows how a tiny mix-up can ruin the whole batch.

Honestly @jamesfox is totally right about that weird chemical taste. Tbh I did the same thing with a boxed cake mix once and it was a disaster. The whole thing turned out super dense and left this awful bitter coating in your mouth. Such a simple mistake that wrecks everything.
