A teller at my local branch pointed out my check deposit habit

She mentioned I always deposit checks on Friday afternoons, which can delay clearing until Monday. I switched to Wednesday mornings and my funds are available a whole day faster now. Anyone else have a simple banking timing tip like that?

Wait, is that why my deposits always seem to take forever? I mean, I've been doing the Friday afternoon thing too, like a total creature of habit. I guess I just never stopped to think about the actual bank schedule. It's kind of funny, I was just blaming the bank for being slow when I was basically causing the delay myself. Switching to Wednesday is actually a really good idea, I'm gonna try that next time.
