Had a chat with my neighbor, a retired bank manager, about the push for all-digital branches. He said 'A closed branch is a closed community.' Made me stop and think.

You know what's wild? I just realized I haven't been inside a bank in like four years. I do everything on my phone now. But your neighbor has a point. For older folks or people without good internet, that branch is their only link. Taking it away just leaves them stuck, and that's pretty messed up. Makes me feel a bit guilty for being part of the problem, lol.

Remember my friend's grandpa last month. He needed a cashier's check for a used car and his internet was down for two days. Drove twenty minutes to find his old branch was just an empty building now. He had to get his son to drive him even further. Skylerp31, that guilt you mentioned is real, because our convenience comes at a cost for people who still need that place. It feels like we're trading community for clicks, and someone always gets left behind.

Ever notice how quiet a street gets when the corner shop shuts? That bank branch is the same kind of anchor, and once it's gone you can't get that feeling back. It's not just about money, it's about people seeing each other.
