Switched from clippers to straight razors for a full head shave and it was night and day different

I always used clippers with a guard for my own head but last week tried a straight razor on a buddy. The shave was SO much smoother and lasted 3 days longer before stubble showed. Has anyone else made that swap and noticed a big difference?

Right? I did the same thing last month and now I can't go back to clippers either.

Oh man, I read somewhere that even barbers who have been at it for decades still nick themselves from time to time. It's the risk you run with something that sharp right near your skin. I remember a blog post from a guy who said the first few shaves are always rough because you're learning the angles on your own face. He compared it to learning to drive a manual car, lots of jerky stops and stalls before you get smooth. Keep at it though, because once you get the hang of it there's really nothing like a straight razor shave.
