Dropped $300 on a scheduling tool, went back to a notepad

Last month I got tired of juggling posts across three accounts and pulled the trigger on that fancy social scheduling app everyone keeps pushing in ads. Cost me $300 for the year upfront. The interface was fine and the analytics looked pretty, but I still spent the same amount of time tweaking captions and picking photos after it drafted things. Worst part, it kept defaulting to times that made zero sense for my audience, so engagement actually dipped for two weeks. I cancelled and went back to writing my weekly plan on a paper calendar with a red pen. The notepad costs $4 and I get more reach because I actually check the times people are online. Has anyone else found that simple manual posting beats the paid tools when your content needs a human touch?

Did your friend try the free version of the same app first?
