Spent $200 on promoted posts and got zero real engagement

I thought paying for reach would solve everything. Threw $200 at Instagram boosts over 3 weeks. Got a bunch of bot likes and some fake comments. No actual follows or sales. Just taught me that organic content beats paid garbage every time. Anyone else get burned by boosts?

Hot take: Posting 3 times a day killed my engagement way more than posting once a week ever did

Everybody in here is always saying you gotta post constantly to beat the algorithm but I ran into the opposite problem. I spent like 6 months forcing out 3 posts a day on Instagram and my reach actually dropped by 40 percent over that time. It took me another 3 weeks of testing to figure out my audience was getting burned out from the sheer volume. When I cut back to every other day my likes and comments went back up within 10 days. I think people just scroll right past when you flood their feed with noise. Has anyone else had better luck posting less but with more thought behind each one?

Hot take: Instagram's new Reels update actually killed my reach overnight

I swear I woke up last Tuesday and my engagement just tanked for no reason. I've been posting 3-4 times a week for the last 9 months and slowly building up to around 500 views per Reel, which I was happy with. Then BAM, my last 2 videos barely hit 80 views each. I checked my settings, looked at the algorithm tips everyone gives, but nothing changed. Turns out after some digging on a creator forum, Instagram rolled out a new update that prioritizes original audio and longer clips over the trending sounds I was using.
