Shoutout to a guy at the Denver coffee shop who gave me a real tip

I was complaining about my posts getting no reach and this guy, Mark, overheard me. He said he runs a small gear shop's account and told me to post at 2 PM on weekdays, not in the morning. He said the algorithm in our time zone is way less busy then, so your stuff sticks around longer. I tried it last week and my views went up like 30% on my next few posts. Has anyone else found a sweet spot time that's not the usual advice?

Forget time zones, the real trick is posting right after a big account in your niche goes live. Their audience is already online and scrolling, so you can catch some of that leftover attention. I started doing this when my favorite hiking blogger posts her morning photos, and my engagement jumped more than any time slot change. Have you noticed any accounts that seem to pull people online when they post?

But what if you just get buried in their shadow? I tried that with a big camping gear reviewer, and my post got zero traction because everyone was still talking about his new tent. It feels like showing up right after a concert ends, the crowd is already leaving.

Mia's point about the big account's audience already being online makes a lot of sense. I read a marketing blog that called this "riding the wave" of someone else's engagement. It seems to work best if your content is related but not the same, like posting a trail snack recipe right after that hiking blogger's scenic shot.
