Spent a full weekend trying to figure out why my Instagram reels weren't getting any views.

I kept posting at what I thought were good times, but my numbers were flat. After checking my analytics, I saw my watch time was only 2 seconds per reel. I finally realized I was putting my main point 15 seconds into a 30-second video. I moved the hook to the first 3 seconds and my next reel got 5 times the views. Has anyone else had to totally change their video structure like that?

Oh wow, that's such a good point. I mean, it's everywhere now, right? Like even news articles put the whole story in the headline because they know people won't click. Or how every YouTube video has to yell the exciting part in the first ten seconds. It feels like we all got trained to have zero patience for anything. Maybe it's just me, but I miss when things could build up a little.

My friend and I were just saying that, and finleyh89 is right too.

Honestly, it's just how the platform works now. You have to grab people before they scroll. It's not that deep, it's just adapting to the medium. Doesn't mean everything else is ruined, right?
