TIL posting at 7am isn't the magic time everyone claims

I kept seeing these gurus say post between 7-9am or you're wasting your content. Last month I tracked my own posts for 30 days and my 11pm Thursday post got 3x the reach of any morning one. Turns out my audience is mostly night owls and the 'best time' advice is just averages, not reality. Has anyone else found their weird off-peak time that works way better?

My 2am Saturday post last month got 400 views compared to my usual 20 at 7am, and I was honestly shook. I used to swear by the morning slot because every productivity blog screamed it, but the data from my own page said otherwise. I think the whole thing is about your specific followers and when they actually scroll, not some blanket rule. Once I started checking my insights instead of listening to gurus, everything changed. It feels like the 'best time' advice only works for people with generic audiences, and the rest of us just gotta experiment. Now I basically post whenever I feel like it and my engagement is way more steady.

Honestly I gotta disagree with the whole "just follow your insights" thing @kim693. I tracked mine too and got the same wild off-hour results, but then I realized I was just chasing my own hype. Posting at 2am might get you views but they're mostly bots or people half asleep who never actually click links. My morning posts bring in the comments and shares that actually matter, even if the raw number looks smaller.
