Can we talk about how everyone misses the 'first 15 seconds' rule on TikTok?

After tracking 50 top videos last month, I saw the ones that hooked a specific emotion (like surprise or curiosity) in the first three seconds got 70% more full views, which totally changes how I plan my hooks now, so what's the fastest emotion you've found to grab attention?

Curiosity hooks work faster than surprise in my tests.

Interesting point from @the_adam, but my own experience leans the other way. A surprise, like a loud noise in a quiet video, makes me jump and pay attention right now. A curiosity hook asks a question that might make me stick around, but it's slower. For grabbing someone in the first two seconds, that jolt of surprise just seems to work better for me.

Ever see that video where the guy just drops a book on the floor at the start? My friend almost threw his phone. I mean, @mitchell.val is right about that jump scare thing, it totally grabs you. But then my friend clicked off after a few seconds cause it was just annoying, idk.
