My TikTok dance videos flopped for 6 months straight
I used to film with just my phone on a tripod and got like 40 views max. Switched to using a ring light and editing with CapCut after a friend's suggestion last Wednesday, now I hit 5,000 views on average. What lighting setup actually made a difference for you?

Oh wow, congrats on that jump! I mean, I read somewhere that bad lighting is actually the number one killer of engagement on dance videos, more than choreography or even audio quality. It makes sense, right? People scroll so fast, if the video looks dark or washed out they just skip past it without even seeing the moves. I feel like a simple ring light is one of those things that seems too basic to matter but it really changes the whole vibe of a video. Maybe it's just me but I notice a huge difference when faces and outfits pop clearly.

Yeah for real, good lighting is literally everything on social media now.

Totally agree, good lighting really is a game changer. It's wild how such a small thing can make or break a whole video.
