The Bear turned me into a kitchen disaster
I watched the first season over a weekend and immediately tried to replicate that beef sandwich recipe. Ended up setting off my smoke detector 3 times and my girlfriend banned me from cooking for a week. Anyone else get overconfident after binging a show?

Is three smoke alarms really a "kitchen disaster" or just a Tuesday for anyone who's ever tried to sear meat on high heat? Most cooking shows make things look way easier than they are, and a burnt sandwich is hardly the end of the world. If she banned you from cooking, that's more about her patience than your skills.

Exactly, how is burning a sandwich a "kitchen disaster" when half the people I know have set off alarms just boiling water? Is it really about the cooking or more about someone having a specific way they want things done and not trusting anyone else to touch their stove?
