Watching home makeover shows made me question their wastefulness

I was binging one of those big interior design series over the weekend. They tore out a perfectly good kitchen just to make it look trendy. Don't these shows have a duty to talk about reuse and fixing up old stuff? It feels like they're selling a dream that creates so much trash. How can a show be fun to watch when it makes you think about all that stuff going to a dump?

I used to love "Fixer Upper" for the big reveals, but then I saw how much gets thrown out. It kinda ruined the fun for me once I pictured all those cabinets in a landfill. Now I just watch for the paint colors and skip the demolition parts lol.

Yeah, I fast forward the demolition parts now, makes it way easier to watch.
