I used to annotate everything in my books, now I just read like a normal person

Tbh, I spent 3 years underlining every sentence and tabbing every chapter in my book club picks. Then last month I realized I couldn't even remember what half the tabs meant. Has anyone else stopped doing the whole active reading thing and found they actually enjoy the discussion more?
