Unpopular opinion: I argued about endings in book club for a year before figuring out my own mistake
For 8 months I kept pushing back on everyone who liked open endings in our club picks, and then it hit me during a Tuesday meeting at Dana's place in Sacramento when she asked me what the ending of our last book actually meant to me and I couldn't answer. Turns out I was reading the final 20 pages while still annoyed about an argument from the start of the book instead of just letting the story land. Does anyone else catch themselves debating a book before they've actually finished feeling it?
