Hot take: Company policy now bans all personal plants

I loved having a little peace lily on my desk for years. Now they claim it's a distraction, which makes no sense to me.

My friend had to remove her spider plant last month. She actually started looking at her phone more because staring at the empty spot was so boring. Kind of proves the "distraction" logic totally backfired.

Exactly, that empty space just becomes the new distraction.

Seriously, isn't it wild how that works? In my experience, I cleared my whole workspace to cut distractions. But without my usual clutter, I ended up doodling on notepads or just zoning out. The empty spot basically became an invitation for my mind to wander. Your mileage may vary, but for me, it totally backfired.
