My buddy's cheap lantern got fried in a storm last year. He finally got a Black Diamond one and it's been through some crazy rain, still works fine.

Honestly that freeze-thaw cycle is no joke, it's like the ground itself is trying to push your work back out. I see this everywhere now, people trying to save a little time or money on the base layer and it always comes back to bite them. It's not just fences, it's like patching a driveway wrong or using cheap caulk, the foundation of anything has to be solid or the whole thing fails. Your uncle gave you the golden rule, in our area you gotta get below that frost line or you're just building a temporary sculpture, lol.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it goes... the intake sounds awesome and feels like you're doing something, but the car's computer is still holding everything back. Did the same thing on my old car, bought the cool parts first and was kinda let down. Then got it tuned and it was like a whole different vehicle... really woke it up. The noise is fun for sure, but the tune actually uses that extra air you're pulling in.

That 1978 tab is actually vintage now, not modern litter. It's over 45 years old.
