PSA: I used a 10% vinegar spray to kill weeds in my Denver patio cracks and it actually worked
I had this stubborn patch of crabgrass between my pavers that kept coming back. I read online that a strong vinegar mix could work as a natural weed killer, so I tried a gallon of 10% horticultural vinegar with a bit of dish soap. It browned the weeds in about two days, but I'm worried the acidity might hurt the soil long term. Has anyone else tried this method and checked their soil pH after?

I did the same thing on my walkway. The vinegar breaks down fast in the sun, so my soil seemed fine by next season.

Just hope you don't have any good bugs in that soil, because vinegar doesn't pick and choose what it kills.

Grace has the right idea about it breaking down. I used the same mix on some moss in my driveway cracks last year. The area looked rough for a few weeks, but grass grew back in fine by fall. If you're really worried, you can rinse the spot with some water from a watering can after the weeds are dead. That helps wash any leftover vinegar deeper into the ground where it dilutes faster.
