Yeah the sharp knife vs dull knife thing is so spot on, I feel that. It's one of those things where you don't realize how much you're fighting the tool until you try the better way once. @chen.casey totally nailed it too, dry mixing just feels so much cleaner and smoother on the joints. Once you get that first batch right it's hard to ever go back to the wet stuff.

Whoa that's a huge one! It's wild how the little things we do without thinking totally change the whole flow of a job. I've noticed that with stuff like using a sharp knife versus a dull one, or even how I load the dishwasher. With a dull knife you're fighting it the whole time and it takes twice as long, but a sharp one just glides through. Same with the mortar dry mixing probably saves your back and wrists way more than you'd guess. It's like half the battle in any project is just figuring out the right way to start it.

Used to think dry mixing was just extra hassle for no reason but man I was wrong. Tried it once and now I won't go back either.
