Just found out you can book a local guide for a whole day in Hanoi for under $40

I was reading a travel blog about Vietnam and it mentioned hiring a local university student as a guide through a specific app. They said it costs about $35 for an 8-hour day, which includes their transport and food. Has anyone actually done this and can recommend a good service there?
