That guy who swore by bus travel across Europe was absolutely right

My coworker Dave told me last year to skip the Eurail pass and just take FlixBus everywhere through Central Europe. I thought he was nuts (like, who wants to spend 8 hours on a bus from Prague to Vienna?). But I tried it last summer for a 10 day trip and saved about $180 compared to rail prices. The buses had wifi, plugs, and I actually saw more of the countryside than I would have on a train. Has anyone else found a bus network that undercuts the trains in a specific region?

Did you actually test the wifi speed on those buses? I found FlixBus wifi to be basically unusable in Poland. Kept dropping out every 20 minutes or so. Made me wish I had just paid extra for the train where I could at least stare out the window without getting motion sick. Curious if your experience was different or if you just didn't need it much. Because if the wifi actually works in some regions but not others that changes the whole value proposition.
