I started tracking every single dollar I spent for a month
I got a cheap notebook and wrote down every coffee, grocery trip, and gas fill up. After 30 days, I added it all up and saw I was spending almost $200 a month on snacks and drinks from gas stations. I never thought it was that much because each trip was only five or ten bucks. I cut that out and put the money straight into my savings account instead. Now I keep a water bottle and some granola bars in my car. It feels dumb that I didn't see it before, but writing it down made it real. What other small spending holes do people usually miss?

Read an article once about subscription creep. People forget about all the little monthly charges for apps, streaming services, and memberships that auto-renew. They add up to a huge chunk of change if you don't cancel the ones you never use.

My bank statement showed five streaming charges I forgot about.
