Shoutout to the guy who talked me into using QuickBooks after years of spreadsheets

I ran my landscaping business on Excel sheets for like 6 years. Told myself QuickBooks was overpriced and complicated for what I needed. Then this guy at a chamber of commerce meeting showed me his setup and how it auto-categorizes his expenses from his bank feed. I tried the free trial last month and honestly I already saved about 8 hours of manual data entry. Has anyone else switched from doing it the hard way and regretted not jumping sooner?

Yeah man, totally get it. I was the same way with my service business. Stubborn about spreadsheets for years. Thought I was saving money. Then my accountant basically begged me to try QuickBooks. Night and day difference. The auto categorization alone freed up so much time. I used to sit there matching every transaction by hand. Now it does 90% of the work for me. Honestly wish I had made the switch three years ago.

Eight hours a week is no joke, that's basically an extra workday every single month you were wasting on manual data entry. I switched my side hustle over a year ago and the biggest thing for me was breaking that mental block that spreadsheets were somehow more 'under my control' or whatever I told myself. The bank feed matching thing is honestly magical once you train it a bit, it catches stuff I would have missed. I still keep a spreadsheet backup out of habit, but I barely touch it now. Really glad you made the jump, it's one of those things you can't unsee once you see it working.
