My band saw blade snapped right as I was starting a big brisket order at the shop in Boise.

I had to hand-finish the trim on all 15 pieces with my boning knife, which took an extra two hours, but the customer never knew the difference. Has anyone else had a major tool fail right in the middle of a rush order, and what's your backup plan?

Honestly, that's a nightmare scenario. My main question is about your blade maintenance. Were you running that band saw blade way past when you should have swapped it, or did it just give out with no warning? I've had blades snap from pushing too hard on frozen product, but sometimes it's just a bad weld. Knowing why it broke is the only way to really build a backup plan that works.

Bad welds are the worst.
