Hit 5,000 cable terminations last Tuesday and it hit me different

I was just finishing up a job at a new build in Arlington and happened to count my terminations for the year. 5,000 exactly. That's a lot of coax and ethernet I've touched this year alone. I remember struggling to get 20 good terminations in a day when I started 8 years ago. Has anyone else ever stopped to add up their numbers and gotten surprised by the total?

Dang, that number really puts things into perspective when you see it written out like that. I bet the muscle memory from those first 20 struggles is what made the last few thousand feel almost automatic. It's crazy how doing the same task over and over can quietly build into something that big without you even noticing.

You ever heard of the guy who learned to juggle by starting with one ball for a month? My buddy did that, then two for another month. By the time he got to five, his hands were just doing it on their own. That's pretty much how it goes with anything repetitive I guess.

Oh wow, I gotta jump in here real quick. Your buddy's method actually makes perfect sense to me because you're building muscle memory step by step, not jumping straight into the hard stuff. But I think people miss that the time between each ball matters more than the number of balls themselves. Like, you can practice one ball for a week and get bored, but if you're actually trying to keep your rhythm steady the whole time, that's where the real skill sinks in. That first month is way more about learning how to focus than it is about the ball itself.
