Customer's complaint about my shutter speeds fixed my whole process

A regular in Lincoln said my CLA'd cameras still felt sluggish compared to his new one. I started timing every speed with my oscilloscope instead of just trusting the old calibration chart, now I catch sticky magnets before they fail. Has anyone else found a better routine for verifying the 1/1000th speeds?

My buddy swore his speeds were fine till a lab test showed half were off. Now he recalibrates every six months.
