Took me 3 hours to explain why that influencer's apology was worse than the original tweet

My buddy kept saying she should be forgiven because she said sorry, but I had to break down how the apology just blamed everyone else. Anyone else have to walk someone through why a half apology makes things worse?

Had a buddy once explain his breakup and halfway through I realized he was just describing his own red flags.

Read a study once that said most people lack self-awareness in arguments lol.

Actually, I kind of see this one differently. An apology that blames other people is ALMOST always bad, but sometimes people say stupid things in the heat of the moment and a half apology is the best they can do right then. You have to look at what the original tweet was about. If it was just some dumb take that blew up, then maybe the influencer was caught off guard and didn't know how to properly own it. Three hours is a LOT of time to spend on this though. I get being frustrated but at some point you gotta let your buddy figure it out on his own. Most people learn this stuff by messing up themselves, not by being lectured.
