Found out one of my favorite cancel culture targets actually faked their own scandal for clout

I was digging through an old podcast transcript from 2019 and found a producer admitting they staged the whole controversy to boost streaming numbers on a creator I thought was gone for good.

Yeah exactly. The whole thing was manufactured from the start. They even had fake death threats sent to themselves to make it look real. Makes you wonder how many other "cancelled" people were actually in on it the whole time.

Yeah but I'm not sure I buy that, seems like a pretty big conspiracy that would need a lot of people keeping quiet. In my experience these things usually have some truth to them even if the media blows it way out of proportion. Hard to believe someone would fake death threats and then just go back to normal life like nothing happened.
