That one comment about my apology video that actually made me rethink things

I posted a half-hearted apology after getting called out for a shady sponsorship deal back in March. Someone commented 'You're reading off a script, nobody buys this' and it stung because they were right. I scrapped the whole approach, wrote a raw 3-minute video without notes, and actually admitted I took the money without checking the product. Lost about 400 subscribers that week but the comments shifted from hate to actual advice. Has anyone else had a random comment completely change how you handle a situation?

Ngl that comment probably saved your channel in the long run. I had a similar wake up call when someone called me out for shilling a sketchy health tea and just said "you used to actually care about your viewers." Hit me right in the gut because it was true, I had gotten lazy and greedy. Ended up doing a full refund for anyone who bought through my link and took a month off to figure out what I actually wanted to create. Lost way more than 400 subs but the people who stayed actually engage with my content instead of just scrolling past. Sometimes the brutal truth is the push you need to stop coasting and do better.
