Spent $400 on a professional resume writer and got worse results than my DIY version

I paid a service $400 to rewrite my resume for a tech management role last year. The lady used all these buzzwords like 'synergy' and 'leveraged assets' that made me sound like a corporate robot. My own version with plain language got me 3 interviews in 2 weeks, theirs got zero callbacks in a month. Anyone else found that these expensive resume services just don't understand your actual field?

Oh man, I paid a similar service and they turned my resume into something that sounded like a motivational poster for a company that doesn't exist. Got zero callbacks until I rewrote it myself with actual job descriptions. Guess my $400 just bought me a very expensive reality check.
