Remember when celebs used to just delete their bad tweets and pretend it never happened?
I used to think that was the smart move, you know, just wipe the mistake away. But now, after seeing so many get caught by screenshots (like that actor last year who posted a rant and deleted it in 2 minutes, but it was everywhere), I think it's way worse. Trying to hide it makes you look sneaky and guilty. Has anyone else noticed that the apology tour after a saved tweet is always way messier than if they'd just left it up and owned it?

My own tweet history is a graveyard of bad jokes I thought were funny at 2 AM. Deleting them is my reflex, but the internet never forgets, does it? It's like trying to hide a spilled drink by kicking it under the couch. Everyone still saw you do it, and now you just look weird. Maybe we should all just leave our dumb posts up as a public service.

Read an article once that said deleting stuff just makes people look for it harder. Kinda proves your point about the spilled drink. Maybe we should all just own our bad jokes.

Actually @finley729, deleting old posts is just good digital hygiene, like cleaning your house.
