PSA: The 90-day parking grace period for city stickers actually got me a $75 ticket

I moved to Wrigleyville last month and thought I had until July 26 to get my city sticker because of the 90-day rule. Well the meter maid didn't care one bit and slapped a $75 ticket on my windshield yesterday. Anyone else get caught by this same trick or is it just me?

$75 is a rough way to learn that lesson, I used to think it was a real grace period too.

Yeah I used to think the 90 day thing was a free pass too honestly. A buddy told me about it when I moved last year and I waited way too long then got nailed with the exact same ticket. Totally changed my mind on trusting that "grace period" thing, it's basically a trap.

Does it feel like these "unwritten rules" or "common knowledge" things always seem to backfire on us? I swear every time I think I've found a cheat code for life, it turns out to be a setup. Like remember when everyone said you could ignore parking tickets in a different state? Yeah, right. @thomas_martinez I feel like we've all been burned by that kinda info from a friend or a random post, it's almost like the universe is just waiting for you to trust it. These little traps are everywhere, from grace periods to return policies, you just can't win unless you read the fine print yourself.
