Fed up with my city's recycling program after that driveway incident
I live in Portland and last month the city changed the pickup schedule without telling anyone. I put my bin out on Tuesday like always, and it sat there for three extra days in the rain, which made the cardboard all soggy and gross. The truck finally came Friday, but the driver left a note saying my cans were "contaminated" because a soggy pizza box got stuck to a plastic bottle. Has anyone else dealt with their local program just... not working right anymore? I'm thinking about driving my stuff to a drop-off center instead.

That soggy cardboard thing is such a pain, I feel you. My neighbor had her whole bin rejected last month because a fruit sticker was on an apple core. Its like they want us to be perfect or just give up. Have you tried calling the city to complain about the schedule change?
