Solar panel inverter died right before a heatwave in Phoenix

Last month my inverter just gave up, no warning, no error code, just a dead screen. I got the system installed in 2019 and figured it would last closer to 15 years, not 6. The repair guy said the capacitors cooked during a 118 degree stretch we had in early June. I ended up paying $1,200 out of pocket because the warranty only covered parts, not labor, and the part itself took 2 weeks to ship. During that time my AC bill jumped about $80 compared to the same period last year, which stung extra. I'm wondering if anyone else has had inverters fail faster than expected in hot climates, and if there's a smarter way to protect them or shop for the next one.
