That moment I realized my favorite canceled YouTuber was doing it on purpose

Went back through old apology videos from a creator I used to defend, and noticed every single one followed the same pattern: vague wording, zero accountability, then a comeback two weeks later. Happened 4 times in 2023 alone. Has anyone else gone back and spotted the formula in these?

Exactly what you described is a textbook cycle. They wait just long enough for people to forget or forgive, then come back with a halfhearted apology video that says nothing. The ones who stick around are usually the ones who never actually change their behavior, they just get better at hiding it. It helps to look at the dates between videos next time you start feeling bad for someone.

Yeah "getting better at hiding it" is exactly right. At this point they should just cut out the middle man and upload a video titled "I did it again, see you in two weeks." It's like watching someone learn how to cook but instead of getting better at making food they just get better at burning it and hiding the smoke. The whole "vague wording, zero accountability" thing is basically a script at this point, I'm half convinced they all use the same PR firm that just recycles apology Mad Libs. Next time just skip the tearful eyes and the dramatic pause and just say "I messed up, I'm not sorry, don't care, bye." At least that would be honest for once.
