Found out the average home barista spends $300 a year on beans alone
Saw a post from some coffee survey last week. Said the average person making espresso at home goes through 24 pounds of beans annually. At $12 a pound that adds up quick. Makes me feel better about my own spending honestly. How much do you guys end up spending per year on just the beans?

Twenty four pounds per year sounds low to me honestly. I'm probably closer to 35-40 pounds just for my morning latte and an afternoon cortado. But here's what I wonder - does that $300 figure include people who are buying fancy single origin stuff or just basic blends? Because I can easily drop $18-20 on a 12oz bag from a local roaster and that blows the average right out of the water. Are we talking Peet's from the grocery store or Counter Culture direct trade?

Yeah @emmaallen I'm over here justifying my 40 pound habit like it's a personality trait.

Is that supposed to be a flex or something? Buying fancier beans doesn't make the habit any better for your wallet.
