Update: I always thought a French press was the only way to make strong coffee at home
For years, I used my French press every morning and thought any other method was weak. Last month, my friend in Seattle lent me her Moka pot and insisted I try it. I brewed the same beans I use in my press, a medium roast from Colombia, and the taste was way more intense and rich. The Moka pot got a thicker, almost espresso-like coffee in about five minutes on my stove. Now I use the Moka pot on weekdays and save the press for lazy weekends. What other stovetop methods do you guys like for a stronger cup?

Try a Turkish cezve if you want something totally different. You grind the beans into a powder, mix with cold water and sugar right in the little pot, then heat it until it foams up. It makes this super strong, sludgy coffee with a wild texture.

Super strong, sludgy coffee with a wild texture" is the perfect way to put it. I always thought that sounded kinda gross, like drinking mud. My friend made me try it once and it totally changed my mind. That thick foam and intense flavor is something else, hits way different than my usual drip pot. Now I keep a cezve for when I really need a kick.
