A random comic shop chat made me flip on reading digital
I swore I'd never buy digital comics, thought they were a ripoff. Then last month I was at Third Eye Comics in Annapolis and the owner pulled up a 2015 run of Saga on his tablet. He showed me the guided view mode, where it zooms panel by panel, and it honestly reads better on a phone than the floppy in my hand. So I grabbed a 30 day trial of that subscription service for $5.99 a month, and now I've finished like 40 issues I'd been ignoring for years. I still grab physical copies for covers I love, but I'm not pretending digital is the devil anymore. Anyone else make the jump after seeing how the panel zoom handles big splash pages?

Those splash pages hit harder in guided view for sure, @chen.casey, just make sure to adjust the panel speed or it feels too quick on slower reads.

The guided view sold me too when I finally tried it on a big action sequence, those splash pages actually hit harder panel by panel than flipping back and forth in print. Now I'm the opposite of my old self, I'll buy the digital for reading and only grab the physical if the cover art is stupid good.
