I just found out I've been reading my comics wrong for like 10 years
I always tore through new issues super fast, but my friend in Austin pointed out I was missing all the background art and little jokes the artists hide. She made me slow down and look at a single page of 'Saga' for five whole minutes, and I saw stuff I never noticed before. Do you guys have a method for reading to catch all the details?

I used to just read the dialogue too.

Wait, you skip the descriptions? I always thought the best parts were hidden in the narration.

My copy of Dune has whole pages where I just skimmed the desert details to get back to the plot. It took me three tries to actually read all of Tolkien's landscape stuff. Sometimes you just need the story to move.
