Remember my buddy Dave paid like two fifty for a "sentiment tracker" last year. He showed me the report on his company's latest product launch. It basically just underlined every time someone typed "lol" in the comments and called it "positive engagement." He was so mad he almost threw his laptop.

Wait, did they even check for sarcasm?

Honestly, rileyp49 has a point about sarcasm. Those trackers miss so much. My take is they just look for key words, not the actual tone. Saw a post get marked as "joy" because it said "great job" but the whole thread was clearly making fun of something. The tech isn't smart enough for real talk yet. It's like they're not even trying to get the full picture.
