My regulator cracked mid-dive off the coast of Monterey last Tuesday

I had to buddy breathe 15 feet back to the surface while my second stage kept free flowing, and now I'm wondering if anyone else has had a sudden housing failure on a Poseidon reg or was it just me?

Stick with Poseidon and watch that housing like a hawk every pre-dive check from now on.

Hard to say if it's really that serious. @claire_ramirez I've seen plenty of housings get small cracks that never turned into a flood if you catch them early. A visual check before every dive is enough, you don't need to hover over it like a hawk or anything. The whole "watch it like a hawk" thing seems a bit dramatic for a hairline crack that might not even matter. Most of the time these things hold up fine unless you really bang them up. If you're doing a thorough pre-dive check and it's not spreading, you're probably good to go.

Poseidon gear is solid, I've had one crack but caught it early enough to avoid a flood.
