The debate about hot water on cuts keeps coming up on every job site
Had a guy on a rig out in the Gulf last month who swore by hot water on a cut to stop bleeding faster, but my old training says cold water to keep swelling down. Which side do you guys come down on when you get nicked underwater?

Oh man that's a tough one. I get nicked on the regular too and it's always a gamble which way to go. Hot water seems to help with the bleeding but cold just feels better right after, ya know?

I usually go cold first to stop the sting then switch to warm to clean it up proper. Dab don't rub and you'll be good. Works for me anyway.

Does the cold actually slow the bleeding for you, or is it more about numbing it so you don't feel it as much? I've tried that and it just makes the cut look worse before I hit it with warm water. Curious if the order matters that much or if it's all the same in the end.
