Vent: Bought a cheap dive light for a murky river job in Memphis

Found a "heavy duty" light online for $75, figured it was a good deal for a two day job. The thing flooded at 30 feet on the first dive, total junk. Had to rent a proper light from the local shop for $50 a day, so I lost $125 total. Should have just used my old reliable one or rented from the start. Anyone have a go-to brand for low vis work that won't break the bank?

Honestly, that's rough but I gotta say, calling 30 feet in a river a "dive" is kinda generous for Memphis. That's more like feeling your way through cold mud. Tbh, for true low vis, you don't need crazy depth rating, you need a beam that cuts through soup. My buddy uses a basic 1000 lumen video light with a wide flood for that, it's more about the light spread than how deep it goes.

Wait, so we're calling it diving when you can't even see your own hand? Sounds more like a really cold, wet game of Marco Polo.

Yeah, @christopher_wells4 is right about needing that wide flood for river muck!
