Spent $800 on a loan consultant to review my commercial refi paperwork
It felt steep, but she caught a balloon payment clause I totally missed. Has anyone else paid for a review and had it actually pay off?

Honestly, isn't that just paying someone to do your basic due diligence? Most of those clauses are in plain English if you read slowly. Feels like an expensive way to avoid doing your own homework.

Man, my buddy lost his deposit over a tiny clause he missed.

Read a piece last week about how legal language seems simple but has hidden meanings. People miss stuff because they don't know the history of certain terms. It's like a mechanic spotting a problem you'd never see, even if you popped the hood yourself. Paying for that check can save you from a huge mistake later. The cost seems worth it for real peace of mind.
