Went to a credit union in Tucson and saw a sign that made me laugh
Stopped by a local credit union last week to ask about their debt consolidation loans and noticed a handwritten sign taped to the teller window that said "We don't do reverse mortgages, please stop asking." The teller told me three people had asked that morning alone. Has anyone else run into weird signage at their bank or credit union?

It's like every single place you go now has to spell out the obvious because people just walk in and ask for anything. I saw a sign at a local Chase that said "No notary services on weekends" in huge red letters, and the guy next to me still asked if they could notarize something. Folks don't read signs anymore, they just expect everything to be available all the time, even if it's clearly not what the place does.

Friend of mine runs a consignment shop and he put a sign on the door that says "No electronics or furniture" in big block letters. Not kidding, the very next customer walks in lugging a microwave and a broken chair, asking if he buys that stuff. @wilson.sam you're exactly right, people just see a door and a counter and assume it's a general store where you can get anything done. Signs might as well be invisible wallpaper at this point.

Come on, give people a break - nobody reads that stuff because half the time the signs are wrong or outdated anyway, and it's not that crazy to ask just in case there's a loophole or the employee feels like helping out. If you don't want people asking, get rid of the counter and the customer-facing vibe.
