I wasted $800 on a bad concrete sealer job last summer

I thought I'd save money by using this cheap sealer from a big box store on my own driveway. It looked good for about a month, then started peeling up in ugly white flakes. Now I gotta grind it all off and redo the whole thing with the good stuff from the supply house. Anyone else fall for the cheap stuff and pay double later?

Right there with you, my driveway looks like it has a bad case of dandruff now lol. Spent about $400 on the cheap stuff from the home store, watched it bubble up after one hot week, and now I'm looking at renting a grinder for another $150. It's like paying extra to learn the same lesson twice - just with more dust in your lungs and less money in your pocket.

Wait, you think $400 is bad? I dropped almost $700 on that "premium" epoxy kit from the big box store thinking it was the REAL deal. @riley_taylor had it spot on about that bubble action, but mine started peeling up like a sunburn within two weeks. I swear these companies just repackage the same cheap resin in different boxes and charge us double for the "professional" label. And that grinder rental is a whole OTHER nightmare - I did that and ended up with dust on EVERYTHING in my garage for like a month.

Read a study not too long ago that said most of those home store kits have way more solvents than actual epoxy, which is why they fail so fast in heat. Really makes you wonder if spending a bit more on the real stuff from a dedicated supplier would actually save money in the long run lol. Just another case of you get what you pay for I guess.
