Pro tip: that $200 epoxy kit from the big box store left me with a mess
I bought a cheap epoxy kit from Home Depot to do my garage floor last month thinking I'd save money. But it peeled right up after only three weeks in the heat, so I'm out $200 and have to grind the whole thing down again. Has anyone else had better luck with cheaper brands or is it worth just paying for the good stuff from a supply house?

Man, that's rough. I gotta say though, $200 for a full garage floor kit from a big box store is actually about right for the cheap stuff, not really a bargain. Those kits are usually just a thin acrylic coating, not real epoxy. Real two part epoxy from a real supply shop will set you back at least double that, but it sticks way better and handles the heat. You're gonna have to grind it all off like you said, so maybe just save up and do it right next time.

So $200 for a kit that peels up like a bad sunburn is "about right"? Sounds like a real steal if you ask me. I mean who doesn't love spending their weekend grinding off a glorified coat of paint that couldn't hold up to a hot tire? And then you get to do it all over again with the real stuff. Bargain hunting at its finest, huh.
