After that sleep study, I'm convinced they're hiding something...

I did a sleep study last month and the data didn't match my own experience... The doc said I need a CPAP, but I've read that sleep labs are paid to push these machines by the companies... Is there real proof that sleep apnea is as common as they say, or is it inflated?

Those sleep studies catch things you'd never notice while unconscious. Independent research keeps finding real physical damage from stopped breathing at night. Ignoring solid data because of money worries seems like a bad way to protect your health.

I tracked my own sleep for months and still missed key signs. Getting a real test showed issues I couldn't spot on my own, and the treatment helped. Sometimes you need the data to see what's really going on.

Look at how many people get told they have breathing problems at night but never feel better with treatment. Those studies often scare people into buying expensive machines they don't need. Money is a real concern for most folks, and skipping a test isn't the same as ignoring health. You can watch your own sleep habits and make lifestyle changes first. Relying only on data from labs misses the personal side of health.
