Federal reserve tour in DC, the vault tour felt staged

Checked out the Federal Reserve tour last month and the gold vault presentation was way too polished, they rushed us past the actual storage area in under 10 minutes. The guide kept repeating a script about 'secure processes' but dodged every question about audit trails or who watches the watchers. Has anyone else taken that tour and felt like they were seeing a prop version of the real operation?

You really think they'd let tourists see the actual gold and not some foam bricks painted to look shiny?

I remember watching a documentary about the Tower of London a few years back and figured the Crown Jewels were basically a tourist trap with painted props. Then a friend of mine who works security at a museum told me how they actually move the real stuff for state events. That changed my mind pretty fast. These places have insane insurance policies and armed guards standing right there. The whole point of showing real gold is that people can tell the difference up close, and they want that reputation. Fake bricks would get exposed by any inspector or historian in five minutes flat.
